Sprint has announced that its LTE hotspots will soon become available for purchase in the US.
In a statement on the company’s website, the carrier said that “a handful of Sprint hotspots are now available in some cities.”
The company also says that “the new Sprint Hotspot will support 5G-ready devices and will include LTE speeds up to 100Mbps.”
Sprint is the only US carrier to offer this new hotspot.
This means that, if you want to connect to Sprint’s LTE hotspot, you’ll need a compatible smartphone running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher, as well as a 4G LTE connection.
In addition, Sprint will also be offering 4G hotspot devices, but the LTE speeds are lower.
“With the launch of Sprint Hotspots, the majority of our customers will have the ability to access their most important networks at speeds up of up to 150Mbps,” the carrier says.
“Additionally, we’re launching a new feature that allows you to choose the maximum number of devices you can bring into a room, up to 10 devices.”
Sprint also says “sprint will now offer the ability for customers to create their own unique Sprint Hotspathes, allowing you to keep your favorite devices close at hand for as long as you want.”
You’ll also be able to use the Sprint Hotsphere to set up the hotspot on your device, as long you have a 4.4G connection.
This is similar to the feature in the Google Play store, but it doesn’t work on older phones.
This new feature is available in the Sprint US store and the Sprint UK store, which will be launched later this year.
