Google is reportedly working on a new device that could replace the aging Google TV set-top box.
The news comes as Google prepares to launch the Google Flotation device later this year, which will use the same tech as Google TV but be able to stream content from a number of different devices to the device.
Google has already announced it is working on the device, but we’re not sure how many other device manufacturers are involved with it.
According to sources familiar with the project, Google has not revealed details about what exactly the new device will do, but said it will be “fully autonomous, and be able take over your living room”.
It’s unclear whether the device will be a new product, or simply a new name for an existing product.
Google also recently unveiled a device called the Google Home, which looks like an Apple TV box with a Chromecast-like TV remote and HDMI port, but is actually a Google TV box.
It costs $99.99 (AU$118.45).
Google has also launched a new Chromecast streaming stick, which comes with a $29.99 base price, and a $69.99 bundle.
